My Story

Growing up, I was always considered the “weird” kid. I often wore wigs, or put rainbow clips in my hair which didn’t fit in with other kids styles. Ive also always been a  very friendly person who loved to chat and make new friends. Because of this, many people found me weird and different and often made fun of my appearance or the things I said. I began to feel pressured to hide who I was in order to fit in. However, I have always been outgoing and confident so it was easier said than done. I started to try and shape who I was in order to be more ‘normal’. I tried my hardest to suppress the ‘weird’ questions I wanted to ask people. Over time I began to shape my personality based on how I thought others would like me best. I would talk and act a certain way with different groups of people. I felt like a chameleon changing colors based on the environment I was in. As I got older, I realized that the weird things about me were what made me unique. Why try to fit in when I can stand out and make friends who like me for who I am? I started using art as a way of developing my own sense of who I am and who I want to be.

Once I began embracing my creativity, I ended up switching my college major from cardiovascular sonography to Advertisement and Public Relations with a minor in Graphic Design. I was able to develop my own sense of self and gain true friends who I could be myself around. After I began to understand how important it was for me to embrace my differences, I became even more inspired to express my creative side. It's important to stay true to your interests and hobbies, especially if you're afraid of being made fun of by others! Some of my personal interests include rock climbing, crocheting, growing plants, drawing, and watching anime. I also enjoy adventuring and traveling to different places. There is a lot you can learn creatively from observing how others express themselves. Once you become confident with expressing the things you like, It's easier to meet other people who share similar interests. There are many ways you can express your creativity and embrace your weird side. I personally express myself through my art. I often draw things I see in my dreams or get inspired from real life events. I become motivated through my hobbies and interests. I often draw unusual monsters or creatures because that’s what I find interesting. I also like to draw things that I want to know more about. If I'm curious about a certain subject, I will do research and draw or create my own interpretation of what I have learned. I find pleasure in pushing myself to develop new skills and learn new things. Gaining inspiration from my surroundings is something that’s very important to me and my art. Being out in nature and observing the world around me helps me to relax and come up with new ideas. I often combine nature with art and add element of nature into ordinary things. There are many different ways to incorporate your interest and likes into you're art. Other ways you can express who you are include dressing how you want, painting how you feel, or dancing like no one's watching! It's important to be able to find a creative outlet where you can express how you are feeling. As an artist, I am inspired by topics that are not often discussed along with my own personal stories in life. I will take experiences and shape them into works of art that I can be proud of. I also like to express myself through many different art forms such as digital art, ceramics, textiles, and photography. It's fun to be able to try different art forms and figure out what works best for you. I also use art as a way of communicating my feelings and opinions to others. Art is a great way to truly get a sense of what someone is feeling of thinking.

I want to inspire others to ‘Stay Weird’ and be able to express their creativity without changing to fit the expectations of others. I find it important to be able to develop a creative outlet in order to grow as a person. I want people to be proud of who they are and what they can accomplish by expressing who they are. In this site, I will be sharing my different forms of art along with providing others with advice on how to handle others who try to bring you down. I am hoping my art will inspire others to not be afraid to break away from societal norms.

Don’t be afraid to embrace your differences and always remember to Stay Weird!
